Canoe trip on the Dordogne river in complete freedom

This 2 to 5 day hike is for purists, nature and landscape lovers. Leave telephones and computers at home and recharge your batteries in an idyllic setting where relaxation is the key word.

Programme

Day 1

Meeting at around 9 am at our canoe base in Vitrac.
Distribution of equipment, (canoe, life jackets, paddles, watertight containers), recommendations.
Transfer to the starting point of your trip.

Departure from Beaulieu / Carennac 20 km

For 5 days of hiking

Gintrac: ruins of the iron-cut castle
Carennac: medieval village.
Stopover in Carennac.

Carennac / Meyronne 21 km

For 4 days of hiking

Floirac : small town rich in history.
Gluges : small village in a meander of the Dordogne dominated by the Belvedere of Copeyre.
Stopover in Meyronne.

Meyronne / Souillac 20 km

For 3 days of hiking

Lacave, famous for its caves.
The castles of Belcastel and Treyne Souillac: the joyful "jazzante" city of the summer.

Souillac / Vitrac 28 km

For 2 days of hiking

You arrive in the Black Perigord.
St Julien de Lampon, a church with remarkable 16th century frescoes.
Le Cingle de Montfort where the castle of Montfort stands.

Vitrac / Beynac 16 km

Domme : medieval bastide overlooking the Dordogne.
La Roque-Gageac: Village built between cliffs and the Dordogne.
Castelnaud in its castle, museum of the war in the Middle Ages.
The castle of Beynac: one of the four baronies of the Périgord. Return by minibus to the leisure centre at Vitrac.
